Challenge Groups

What Is A Challenge Group You Ask?

A challenge group is something that will help hold you accountable.  First, you would purchase a challenge pack thru my BeachBody website.  The challenge pack would include the workout program of your choice, a 30 day supply of Shakeology, meal plans and me as your coach.

After purchasing the challenge pack, you would be put into a private group on Facebook.  Basically, the group will run for 60 days, sometimes 90 and the group will be comprised of people who are either doing the same workout as your or have the same fitness/health goals as you.  You would do daily check-ins with the group to share your struggles, progress and successes.

Having someone to keep you accountable is what seems to be the missing piece for so many people's success!

I have some time to reflect on why I joined my first challenge group...As most of you know, I have been a BB junkie for MANY years! When I ordered my first program, I ordered it from the TV and not from a coach. I didn't have any support to help keep me motivated to stick to my goals. Though I had success with the programs, I can't say that I ever actually finished a program and achieved the results I was looking for. It was easy for me to take a day, two or three off from my workouts, not follow the meal plans, not drink enough water, not be consistent with the shakes, etc...that is until I joined a challenge group.

When I joined my first challenge group a year ago, I wish I would of had that support when I bought my first program eons ago. During the first round for me in the challenge group, it was kind of uncomfortable....I was supposed to post my accountability post everyday...did I workout, did I drink enough water, did I drink my shake, did I stick to my meal plan...and...I was in a group with many of the teachers in my building and with some people I didn't know and at that time, I was much more reserved with my life than I am now, so some days I posted and some days I didn't. I can tell you, my results were consistent with my involvement in the group.

You're probably thinking that sounds ridiculous and I'm exaggerating, but I'm not! On the days I didn't post, it was usually because my excuses were greater than my "why" and I was embarrassed to post that I fell off the wagon or didn't work out. Not only did I let myself down, but I wasn't good support for the other challengers who were going at it right along with me.

The women who posted religiously had the results I wish I had and ended up with. They used the group to keep them accountable. They weren't perfect, they had days where they didn't get a workout in, where they ate a bag of chips before they went to bed or had cake at a party, but they were real and supportive. This not only benefited them, but everyone in the group...even me as a sometime participant who just watched what everyone else is posting.

Needless to say, I was a much more involved challenger after I was seeing their results and my own and understanding the correlation between the two. You're probably thinking, "yea, yea, yea...I don't have to be involved, I'll be able to follow along and be successful...you can't shame me into posting..." Well yes, I'm sure you can be just as successful and I hope that you are, and I certainly don't want to shame you, I just know that this is new and likely uncomfortable for us, but this is a critical component to your success. During my second round, I asked my coach to call me out if she didn't see me post for the day...that's how important it was to me because there is a connection between the two.

When I started posting more frequently, I'll admit, I was first shamed into making sure I got my workout in because I didn't want to post that I didn't. However, this quickly became important to me and to my success, so I didn't do it because I was ashamed if I didn't, I did it because if I didn't, I was letting myself down.

We all have a reason "why" we want to make healthier changes in our lives. You have to keep remembering "why" you started and "why" it's important to stick with it, even if it's uncomfortable...
